Change a standalone installation to a portable licence [version 7]
The program is the same for a standalone installation as for a portable installation, it is only the licence that changes.
To change the licence type run Changelicencetype.exe in the program directory (default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\PowerMation\Poles ‘n’ Wires) and select the portable option. Then click Apply.
If this procedure does not work you can change the licence type manually:
- go to the Data directory C:\ProgramData\PowerMation\PolesnWires
- open the file pnw.ini with a text editor eg notepad
- find the line “licencetype”: “0”,
- change the number to 1
- save and close the file
Be careful when editing pnw.ini. If you make a mistake your Poles ‘n’ Wires installation will fail to start.
