Valid component IDs

In the profile and tipload modules, when creating pole or segment IDs, only the following characters are valid:

• upper and lower case letters (not case sensitive)
• numbers
• full stop .
• dash –
• underscore _
• plus +
• left or right bracket ( )
• space
• ampersand &

You will see a message if you attempt to enter an invalid character.

Autocad seems to be fussy about component names so avoid the use of anything other than letters and numbers if you plan to export a profile to CAD.
